Champion Teachers
The notion of the “Teacher of the Year” is a teacher who demonstrates exceptional dedication, knowledge and skills to inspire student success. We believe that every student deserves to have a ‘teacher of the year’ every year that they are in our care. Our staff commits to a collective, relentless pursuit of excellence. Teachers meet with the administration on a weekly basis to discuss student progress and assess teacher effectiveness. With this staff, our goal is to eradicate the achievement gap. It is our practice that students learn content in reading and mathematics equivalent to one year’s academic gain or more.
We believe that the community working together will uplift students to achieve the core values deemed essential to the community’s stability and sustainability. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, surrogates, and foster families are all a part of the village. We must have ONE person who is actively engaged in the process of building the best environment possible for that student.
Collaborative Community
We are a school of technology; we understand the role that technology plays in the lives of our students. Therefore, we embrace this standard from the way we operate as a school to the way our teachers and families interact. This includes an online grading system, student instruction in technology and the adoption of the International Society for Technology in Education student standards (ISTE-NETS-S) that establish a baseline for evaluating the skills and knowledge student need to learn effectively and live productively in an increasingly global and digital world. With a commitment to the one-to-one integration of technology, students will have the necessary resources in hand to succeed.
